Veterinary technician Kathy Vennitti of St. Thomas tests "Jones" for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and feline leukemia. All animal treated during the event undergo testing as a part of the spay and neuter program. Vaccinating and testing animals for the illnesses will help to halt the spread of the disease. "Jones" tested negative. The Humane Society of St. Thomas and Lucky Paws Foundation conduct a spay and neuter clinic through Monday. The low-cost event welcomes cats and dogs feral or domestic for three days. Dr. Lilan Hauser and her team of veterinarians and veterinarry techs from Cape Cod, Massachusets are in St. Thomas specifically for this event and will most likely be reutrning with a few dogs in need of a home.
